While Canadian popstar Justin Bieber called the Mumbai concert "the best night of his life", Beliebers from Mumbai are divided over whether the show was a hit or flop.
For Shaan Pasricha, a 19-year-old student from St Xavier's College, having a good time was all that mattered. "I went with my friends. The vibe was amazing. It was a great show and totally worth the money," she said.
Some thought the event was mismanaged.
Sanskruti Jaiin Nainitia, an 18-year-old resident of Marine Drive, wasn't impressed with the security and other arrangements. "At the Global Citizen concert, artists performed one after the other without any break in between. On Wednesday, Alan Walker ended his performance at 7.50pm, while Bieber came on the stage only at 8.15pm. The 25-minute break wasn't needed. Crowd management, too, was bad, forcing many to jump off the barricades," she said.
Harish Pednekar, 25, felt proper arrangements were not made for the media and fans.
Pavan Karimbil, who came to the show with his daughter, said, "I was chaperoning a gaggle of teenage girls. On their insistence, we landed at the venue by 1pm instead of 2pm. The gates opened quite late. Standing in the sweltering heat was a task. Organisers didn't provide water or refreshments. Roadside vendors charged us thrice the MRP for water."
