Obama said, "Beau Biden didnot have a mean bone in his body" and was the consumate public servant and family man".
With an occasional slight tremor in his voice and tears in his eyes, Obama said Beau had "shoulders broad enough not only to bear your own burdens but the burdens of others".
The president said the Biden family 'rule' was that before help was even asked, they would be there for each other.
Obama then addressed Beau's widow, Hallie and two young children, Natalie and Hunter and promised that the Obama's would be there for them.
After delivering the eulogy, Obama warmly embraced Joe Biden at the front of the church kissing him on the cheek.
Obama was at the funeral with his wife, Michelle and daughters, Malia and Sasha and his mother-in-law, Mary Robinson.
