Hello IMBBians,
We know that bleached hair can at times look really dull, lifeless and is prone to breakage and split ends. Therefore, today I am back with an article on how to repair bleached hair in which I will be discussing some easy tips and tricks that will help you in reviving your dull and dry strands.
Avoid Harsh Shampoos and Conditioners
Avoid harsh shampoos which contain artificial fragrance and chemicals at all costs. Instead, use a mild daily-use shampoo to wash your hair and keep your scalp clean. Same goes with your conditioner, skip anything that claims to straighten your hair or make it frizz free in one wash. Instead opt for something milder which will not make your bleached hair drier over a period of time and allow some of your natural scalp oils to condition your hair.
Steer Clear of Styling Tolls Which Use Heat
Blow drying or ironing your hair every other day may seem like the most natural thing to do. However, it damages your hair severely and makes them dull and dry, and decreases the elasticity of your hair strands. Avoid the use of any such styling tools for one month at least, till your bleached hair recovers again. If you must style your hair for a party or an event, always use a thermal heat protectant before you put them through agony.
Use Organic Hair Oils Twice a Week
Using organic hair oils like olive oil and coconut oil will nourish your hair from within and repair your hair to a great extent. You can even customize your own hair oil by mixing a few essential oils in a carrier of your choice. If you are struggling to find good organic hair oils, Kama Ayurveda and Forest essentials have some really good hair oils in their collection which might be worth a try.
Always Use a Conditioner After Shampooing Your Hair
A conditioner helps in sealing the moisture in cuticles and will make sure that your hair ends after bleaching are not dull, dry or lifeless. Since our hair ends are more prone to breakage and dryness, it is essential to use conditioner every time you wash your head.
Do a Deep-Conditioning With a Repairing Hair Mask
You can choose any deep conditioning hair mask of your choice or make your own at home. To make your own hair mask, take an egg or two depending on your hair length, add some olive oil in it and apply it to your luscious hair for at least half an hour. Whereas, if you want to opt for a readily available hair mask, we recommend L’Oreal total repair 5 hair masque, Dove nourishing Oil Care mask and L’occitane repairing shine hair mask for dry and damaged hair.
Get Regular Hair Spas at Salon
Getting regular spas is important as sometimes a professional can do wonders to your hair which might not be possible by doing home remedies. Also, ask them for product recommendations and the product that they use to treat the kind of damage that your bleached hair have incurred.
Trim Split Ends
If your hair ends have been damaged beyond repair, it makes sense to trim them a bit to make way for new and healthy hair to sprout.
Use Cool Setting on Your Hair Dryer
If you live on higher altitudes or have a heavy work schedule and cannot wait for your hair to air dry, use your hair dryer on a cooler setting as it does not damage your hair as severely and also gets the job done.
Drink Lots of Water and Eat a Healthy Balanced Diet
Since our body is made up of mostly water, it makes sense to consume adequate quantities of it to keep them healthy. Along with it, eat a balanced diet rich in protein and other essential vitamins and minerals that will accelerate the recovery of your hair and also increase their growth.
That’s all for today girls, hope this helps.
