Since last night was all about messing with make-up......I decided to attempt an old age make-up. I recently bought aging latex (really just latex) from Make Up Forever and couldn't face the fishy smell of latex in the room past 10.30pm. So I decided to see if I could paint an old age make-up.
I have no idea if this is any good but hey! I'm learning here!
I started by painting my face with foundation using a creamy formula with a heavy coverage which would be good for blending. Then I decided to use my MAC PRO concealer palettes to add lines. I also contoured the face using the concealer palette around the edges and used the fluffy brush to blend it in so it looks a little more sunken then usual. I only did this on one side to see the difference. Can you tell which side?
I used my new Bobbi Brown concealer brush (which I am holding in the picture like a weapon) to draw on lines. I laughed and scrunched my face up to see where my natural lines were. I then added a darker foundation/concealer in these lines and blended. I then went back over the deeper lines with a darker concealer again leaving this slightly unblended.
Terrifying!
My only regret was not using a whiter concealer (of which there are few that are whiter then my natural skin - I am DAMN pale!!) to highlight the wrinkles. I used NW10 where I could but I would have prefered something lighter again. I only have a light water based coverage which is lighter then NW10 studio finish from MAC which is a cream full coverage. I don't think it would have blended.
The palettes are a god send. If you don't want to do an old age make-up then you can use them for highlighting, concealing and contouring the skin. Not to mention the space it saves in kits! There are four palettes in four shade ranges. I use light, medium and medium deep. I keep meaning to buy the dark palette but also, I forget everytime!
I only used two brushes - Bobbi Brown's flat concealer brush (any flat brush will do) and Real Techniques round fluffy contour brush.
They retail for £35!
