Just completed another stint with older daughter driving around a large parking lot; it's her first time in the "new" little car we fixed up for her. Another session like tonight's and she'll be ready to take to the streets. Live in fear, Anchorage!
The wind is still blowing stiffly, causing snow to drift across the roads. Not in large measure, mind, but still noticeable. At one point, daughter's tire tracks had nearly filled back in by the time we drove to the end of the 400' lot, turned around and came back.
Speaking of the weather, AccuHunch is calling for single-digit highs & sub-zero lows all week, and more snow by the end of the week. The wind is supposed to slack off, overnight, but we've been dealing with wind chills of -20 or colder all day today.
It's good to be back indoors.
As an aside: anybody who tells you "it's too cold to snow" at whatever temperature has never been to Alaska. It snows here whenever it wants, and we've seen snow when it's nearly 40 outside (doesn't last long), as well as at -27. And that's just in Anchorage. At those low temps, it's mostly just a constant shower of tiny little glistening ice crystals. But it can keep that up all day long.
And now it's time to put my feet up & read something.
